A Way to Preserve Mobility
Gaitkeeping is a methodology people with Parkinson’s can use to better coordinate their walk, and prolong their independence.
Why Gaitkeeping
By teaching PwPs how to analyze their gait in the context of PD, and to incorporate
a progression of movement strategies into their daily lives, Gaitkeeping aims to give
students…
Enhanced
Coordination
making walking easier and more joyful
A Deeper Understanding
of how Parkinson’s affects their walk, enabling them to counteract walking issues before they become too big
A Safety Net
of strategies to power their walk during medication fluctuations, helping them feel more secure when outside
Prolonged Independence
coming out of an ability to counteract issue before they get too big, and to reinforce and fortify healthy movement patterns
Built On
Real Experience
For over 15 years Pamela Quinn has been helping people with Parkinson’s achieve greater mobility through group classes, one-on-one instruction, and large scale dance performances. For over 25 years she has been living with the disease herself. Gaitkeeping is her attempt to synthesize her professional and personal experience into a single program to help PwPs preserve the most essential component of their independence: their walk.
